Our railcar weighing system utilises multiple Portable Train Weigher (PTW) units positioned beneath each axle. Depending on your vehicle type, we offer configurations for four-axle vehicles (eight load cells) and six-axle vehicles (twelve load cells).
This approach ensures precise, individual wheel weight readings and helps identify uneven weight differences across the entire rail vehicle. Whether used during manufacturing or routine maintenance, it supports better safety, balance and performance.
Crucially, the system minimises distortion caused by gradients. Just a few millimetres of track height difference can affect results by hundreds of kilograms. Our system helps eliminate this risk, ensuring consistent, dependable data.
Because each PTW is only 500mm long, the setup is quick and straightforward. You can install the system without needing to modify the track, making it ideal for both train depots and production environments. It also fits a wide range of track gauges and rail profiles.
Rail Engineers can collect results instantly via a digital indicator or connect to our software for a more detailed insight. Either option makes it easier to analyse railcar weights.
